The APC Series is set to begin its second full season of competition on May 14th 2016 at Sunset International Speedway. After a very successful inaugural season that took Ontario by storm the series is set for bigger and better things in 2016 and beyond! The series featured 6 different race winners in 7 events, with the only multi time winner being Shawn Chenoweth. The series also crowned Dale Shaw champion after the final event at Delaware Speedway.

With 2015 in the mirror we look ahead to 2016, the first race of the tour will be held at Sunset International Speedway. Last season’s race was won by the #48 of Dwayne Baker. Sunset is a 1/3 mile oval located in Innisfil, just 85 km north of Toronto. This tight high banked oval creates side by side racing where drivers must be on their toes at all times. Sunset will also feature race number 8 of 9 on the tour August 27th 2016. Race 8 is sure to be tense with only one race remaining before a champion is crowned. The second race in 2015 at Sunset was won in by #81 Andrew Gresel in a thrilling side by side battle with #21 Matt Pritiko.

Race number two on the schedule will be June 4th at Flamboro speedway, races last year at Flamboro featured winners from our champion #83 Dale Shaw and championship runner up #89c Shawn Chenoweth. With Flamboro being both drivers home they both knew their way around the speedway and used every tactical advantage they could find with each of them being successful and producing side by side battles with tons of a respect. Flamboro Speedway is a 1/3 mile semi banked oval in Millgrove, just outside Hamilton.

The APC Racing Series then tours across the province for race number three at Sauble Speedway. Unfortunately in 2015 the race scheduled at Sauble was washed away by racings liquid nemesis. However we make up for it this year with two fantastic races scheduled for June 25th & July 30th respectively. Sauble located in Hepworth ON, is a ¼ mile semi banked oval that will be sure to feature great action for both series events. Look for hometown favourites such as #17 Joshua Stade and #8 Jason Parker to pose a threat for the victory in the series debut at the speedway.

For race number four on the tour we travel down to the southernmost track that we will race at, Delaware Speedway. Race four will also be a celebration of Canada’s birthday as this race will be held July 1st. Delaware will also host our championship race on Sept 17th where last year #73 Cole Powell won in exciting fashion with #83 Dale Shaw being crowned champion after a steady race and a blistering fast qualifying run that saw him set a new track record. The first race at Delaware in 2015 was won by the #10 of Jesse Kennedy with fireworks during and after the race. Delaware is located just west of London ON, and is the largest track the series races on being a ½ mile oval, Delaware also is one of the oldest continuously operating tracks in the country, fitting for us to celebrate Canada day and our championship here!

Peterborough Speedway will host the unofficial midway point of the season with round number five, the only stop at the speedway for the series. Peterborough, a 1/3 mile oval is located just west of Peterborough ON in the town of Cavan ON, home to the famed Autumn Colours classic for over 23 years. Series drivers #22 Jamie Cox and #17 Joshua Stade were asked by a fan via our Twitter page during the Motorama show: “What track do you worry the most about going to while trying to battle for points?” and both drivers answered with a renowned Peterborough Speedway. 2015 provided some great racing as well as some intense incidents, the race being won by the only multi-time winner on the schedule, #89c Shawn Chenoweth. Look for 2016 to provide much of the same action as last season.
