The 2015 Season official came to a close at the first annual APC Series Banquet. Guests arrived at the event for the initial social hour followed by a fantastic dinner and were then asked by the voice of the APC Series and MC for the night Spencer Lewis to find their seats. The crowd was then wowed by a season recap video prepared by OurExpression Studio.
The night progressed from there with the hardware presentations. First up was the rookie of the year. With this being a new series technically all drivers were rookies to the series, however in good racing spirit this award was presented to a driver who was in his first full season as a late model driver. The rookie of the year award went to a young man who impressed everyone from day one in the series battling with savvy veterans on the high banks of Sunset Speedway to putting up fast lap times in qualifying each and every week. The award was presented to driver of the #86 Billy Schwartzenberg.
Awards were then handed out for 15th-6th in standings followed by a video presentation for each of the top 5 drives with a some great words by each of the drivers, capped off by an emotional acceptance speech from the inaugural series champion #83 Dale Shaw. Dale received the champion’s trophy, glass plaque, and of course the $7,000 champions cheque as well as a trip to St. Martin.
All Sponsors received a very appreciative thank you plaque as a sign of thanks for all the support. Every sponsor in every shape and form is appreciated by the series and that was shown with the plaques. As well the sponsor raffles were done at this time, each driver received chips based on series participation that could be entered into each ballot box with the big prize on the night being a series approved crate engine courtesy of Bennet GM. Each of the ballots was drawn with some fun between the drivers which saw drivers such as #22 Jamie Cox taking home a few prizes, #71 Dan Mchattie claiming another and the crate engine prizing going to the #2 of Rick Burbridge.
The evening was then capped off with a 2016 season preview view announcing some awesome new features to the series such as new website, merchandise trailer, more efficient and timely video, and much more. The video was followed by some words from series founder Luke Ramsay leading into bigger and better things to come for 2016!
The Series would like to thank all fans, drivers, sponsors, and officials for a spectacular 2015 and can not wait to get 2016 going.
